Upcoming and past shows
Our next show:
Thursday, November 13th @ 7pm ET at The Speakeasy at Capo Deli
Our theme:
“Writing the World: Stories That Shape Us”
Theme: “Writing the World: Stories That Shape Us”
Join Generation Women DC for a special fundraising evening in support of the Alan Cheuse International Writers Center. This November, we explore how stories connect us across cultures and continents. Each of our multigenerational speakers will share a personal tale of how travel, literature, or global voices have shaped their lives, perspectives, and imaginations.
Expect an evening of heartfelt storytelling, laughter, and inspiration as we celebrate the power of words to bridge borders and bring the world a little closer together.
The Cheuse Center is a global community of writers, translators, and readers. It sends emerging writers abroad, brings established and new voices to America, and curates public programs to deepen global civic engagement. It is a home for international writers and for American writers alike who face out into the world. By enriching public life through reading, writing, and translation, we can actively pursue a just society.
Generation Women is a multigenerational storytelling series that invites a performer in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and 70s+ to share an original true story on a theme. Our mission is to amplify underheard voices, and create space for intergenerational connection and community.

“Generation Women gave me a deeper appreciation for the shared human experience of women. Race, color, sexual orientation and faith did not separate us, in fact, our stories brought us closer together.
It was beautiful.”
